ORP Grom



DescriptionOn 4 May 1940, naval gunfire support missions in the Narvik area, the Polish destroyer was attacked by German aircraft. Her loaded midship torpedo launcher was struck by a bomb from a German plane and the torpedo exploded causing the hull to break in two. The ship sank almost immediately, killing 59 crew.
