HMS Victoria

DescriptionAccidentally rammed by HMS Camperdown and sunk on 22 June 1893 in annual summer fleet exercises off Tripoli in Syria (now part of Lebanon) when Vice Admiral George Tryon ordered two parallel lines of ships to turn toward each other. Of Victoria's 715 crew, 357 were rescued and 358 lost, including Tryon. Known as Admiral Tryon's blunder.
