HMS Repulse



DescriptionOn 10 December 1941, three days after Pearl Harbor, the battlecruiser was sent with the battleship Prince of Wales to intercept Japanese landings in Malaya, but were sunk by Japanese aircraft based in Saigon. 840 sailors were killed: 513 on Repulse and 327 on Prince of Wales. Winston Churchill said when he heard about the sinkings: "In all the war, I never received a more direct shock...".
