HMS Penylan



DescriptionOn 3 December 1942, while escorting a convoy, the destroyer was torpedoed and sunk 5 nautical miles (9.3 km) south of Start Point, Devon by the German E-boat S-115. Of those aboard, five officers and 112 ratings were rescued and 41 killed. She was the shortest-lived of her class, spending only 30 days in service.
