Ōi



DescriptionOn 19 July 1944 the Japanese cruiser Ōi was torpedoed and sunk by the U.S. submarine USS Flasher in the South China Sea. The destroyer Shikinami, which had attempted to tow the stricken cruiser to safety before she broke in two and sank, rescued 369 crew but 153 crew were killed.
